A: Yes. Remington College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). Please see our Accreditation Page to learn more.
A: The educational management, administrative staff and student service representatives of Remington College are located at 500 International Parkway, Suite 200, Heathrow, Florida 32746. This facility also houses the administrative and managerial staff for all affiliated Remington College campuses. Additionally, Remington College has a staff of admissions representatives, student finance associates and appropriate supervisors located in Tempe, Arizona.
A: Remington College may accept transfer credits(1) for degree programs from certain accredited colleges and universities. Transfer credits may also be accepted from other Remington College campuses.
Credits are accepted on the basis of applicability to the chosen program of study and at the discretion of the Campus' Director of Education or the Campus President. For transfer credits to be considered acceptable, students must have an official transcript sent directly to the campus’s main office from the college or university that awarded the credits. Transfer credits will not be accepted unless the student obtained a minimum grade of "C."
Recipients of veteran’s benefits (GI Bill) must also provide a copy of their DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty.
A: Students who withdraw from an online course before the beginning of the second week of that course receive a grade of “W”. Students who withdraw from an online course after the beginning of the second week of that course receive a grade of “W-P” if they have a passing grade at the time of withdrawal. This is not included in calculating the student’s cumulative grade point average (CGPA). Students who withdraw from an online course after the beginning of the second week of that course receive a grade of “W-F” if they do not have a passing grade at the time of withdrawal. This is included in calculating the student’s CGPA.
The Campus delivers all of its programs one class at a time. Accordingly, withdrawal from an online course constitutes a withdrawal from the Campus, and students who withdraw from the Campus must complete a new Application and Enrollment Agreement in order to register for and attend future courses.
A: If you’ve previously been enrolled and activated at a campus and have dropped or been dropped, you may be eligible to re-enroll if you meet the following criteria: • You’ve made financial arrangements (approved by the campus) to pay your cost of attendance, and you’re not in default of any contractual agreements with Remington College's Online Programs or any other Remington College campus.
• You haven’t been dropped due to failure to follow the Student Code of Conduct or maintain satisfactory academic progress.
• You have completed and signed a new Application and Enrollment Agreement.
A: Online courses are conducted asynchronously, meaning that not all students in a course are online at the same time. Instead, students “attend” at different times, interacting with the instructor and other students through various online methods like bulletin boards, e-mails, and so on. Accordingly, the traditional attendance-taking methods don’t apply to online courses, and there is no specific minimum attendance requirement except this: Students who do not have any posted attendance for 14 consecutive calendar days during a course will be dropped due to lack of attendance. (The 14-day limitation may be extended in cases where a scheduled break, such as a holiday, occurs during the 14 day period.)
Online attendance is still recorded as “present” and “absent,” so that online students’ attendance records are consistent in format with the records of students in traditional classroom-based programs. But for an online course, a student is marked “present” once he or she submits an assignment to be graded. The maximum days of posted attendance is two days per week, even though the student may have more than two gradable assignments during the week. Submitting one gradable assignment results in the student being marked present for one day. Submitting two or more gradable assignments results in the student being marked present for two days.
Remington College’s online programs are not currently available to residents of
AR, IA, KS, MN, MT, or TN. Residents of CO may enroll in online bachelor’s degree
programs only. This list is likely to change, so if you live in one of these states,
please check back frequently.
(1)No more than 50% of a degree program’s total required credit hours to graduate may be fulfilled with transfer credits. With the written approval of the Chief Academic Officer (or his/her designee), students transferring credits from other Remington College campuses may be allowed to transfer more than 50% of the total required credit hours into a program of study.
